THE JAKARTA SCHOOL OF PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS: JSPO

The Jakarta School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (JSPO) was established in 2008 as part of The Nippon Foundation / Exceed strategy to develop a regional Prosthetic and Orthotic sector in Southeast Asia.

JSPO was established as a partnership between The Nippon Foundation, Exceed and the Indonesian Ministry of Health and, subsequently, Ministry of Education.

The School was based on the model pioneered by Exceed in Cambodia and enabled Indonesian students to train as internationally-accredited Prosthetist Orthotists at International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics Category II level. It also provides comprehensive physical rehabilitation services to those most in need at a physical rehabilitation clinic.

The School successfully completed its ten-year development period and, as planned, management of the School passed to the Indonesian government in 2018.

Exceed retains an interest in the development of the School and aims to offer support for future collaborations.
